Western NC Nature Center

The Nature Center offers a Main Exhibit Building, Petting Area, Educational Farm,
Preditor Habitat, Otter Habitat, Nocturnal Hall and The Trillium Glen Nature Trail with
programs, demonstrations and "hands-on" activities for everyone who is
interested in the animals of the Southern Appalachian Region. Located on a 42-acre Natural
Heritage site the center has many species of wildlife, gardens, trails, indoor exhibits
and farm animals. The Nature Center also provides a home for injured, orphaned or
imprinted animals that could not survive on their own; this facility is also one of 28 in
the country participating in the red wolf re-introduction program. |
